Squaw Valley is the gateway to two of the world's natural wonders... Kings Canyon & Sequoia National Parks. Here you will discover the deepest river canyon in the world ( carved by the mighty Kings River ) and the largest trees in the world ( the Giant Sequoia Redwoods ). 

Originally built in 1950, the Squaw Valley Motel was one of the first motorcourts in California and provided lodging for tourists and visitors to the area's two national parks. Now, in 2016, we have extensively remodeled and updated our facility while restoring the rustic character and ambiance of the original design. While our rooms are small, as is the nature of motorcourts, we have strived to create a clean and comfortable environment that is a step back in time to bygone days where hospitality was the norm, not the exception.

We are one of the area's original settling families and, since the 1800's, we have welcomed travelers from all around the world seeking to experience the majesty of one of the great natural wonders of the world. Since the times when travel was by wagon road and visitors would stay at our ranch, we have enjoyed sharing the rugged beauty of our unique mountain area. In keeping with that long standing tradition, we acquired the Squaw Valley Motel in February of 2016 and embarked on the adventure of creating a welcome waystop for travelers journeying to our mountain.
